“Sandpaper”

Born in Nashville, Tennessee and based in Texas since 2020, Maxfield Camp writes from the place where Music City craft meets Hill Country grit. He is a husband and father of three, a working independent artist, full-time sales leader, and songwriter.

His first single as an artist, “Sandpaper,” is the song that put a name on that chapter. In 2026, it earned him Best Americana Artist of the Year at the Unsigned Only Music Awards - an independent honor that matched the sandpaper-and-grace story he has been telling live from rooms and bars across Texas.

Maxfield was a contestant on Oxygen’s The Glee Project (Season 2), appeared on ABC’s Nashville, and booked film and TV work including the TV movie Road Less Traveled, Because of Gracia, and the 2024 country musical A Nashville Wish, in which he starred as Tucker Davis and contributed original music, including “You Can’t Tell a Heart What To Do.” He has also booked lead and featured roles in music videos for Florida Georgia Line, Brothers Osborne, the Marcus King Band, Joe Nichols, Kid Rock, Luke Bryan, and others, plus commercial work including Toyota Tacoma.

As a writer, his songs have been cut across country and independent scenes. Credits include work recorded by Lainey Wilson (One Night Stand); the Top 40 Canadian Billboard Country hit “What If I Don’t” by David James; independent cuts with Music Travel Love and other artists; and songs recorded by Guy Vincent, including “Burn” (No. 1) and “Blessing and a Curse” (Top 5 on the Texas Billboard regional country charts).

The through-line is personal. For ten years, Camp was misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder and wrongly medicated. He talks about that season as the place God pulled him out of the dark - and as a reason the music exists. “What we go through and how we get through it is how we can help people. My hope is the music does just that.”

He is booking as an independent Americana artist who can hold a listening room, a bar, a patio, or a festival stage.
